Buhari’s Win Is Tinubu’s Loss, But Lagos Cannot Be The Bonus

The actions of the winner in victory are as important as those of the loser which is why as the plaudits come in for General Muhammadu Buhari, they are also rolling in for President Goodluck Jonathan who quickly conceded victory to his opponent and may have by that act averted any violent reaction from his supporters. Buhari’s words since being declared winner have shown that he indeed intends to tackle the issue of corruption for which many kicked against the incumbent government in a whirlwind of change that threw out the ruling party for the first time in this democratic dispensation. Buhari has said that all appointees under his government must declare their assets publicly and restrict their income only to what is approved and allocated by the Revenue Mobilisation and Financial Commission. The ascension of Jonathan into power initially quelled it without really solving it while boko haram too began their aggression to alert the President of not been unaccepted. The militants too will now resurface except they continue to enjoy the renewal of pipeline surveillance contracts and this I doubt its sustenance by this incoming administration. The action of Jonathan in the just concluded presidential election is just to still the tide in the temporary but to continue from where it stopped later. This is why any attempt to throw away the referendum prepared by the national confab organised by the government will be a mistake with grave consequences. The man called "General Muhammadu Buhari"

Muhammadu Buhari was born on December 17,1942, in Daura, Katsina State, to his father Adamu and his mother, Zulaihat. He is the twenty- third child of his father. Buhari was raised by his mother, after his father died when he was about three or four-year-old. In 1971, Buhari married his first wife, Safinatu (née Yusuf) Buhari (First lady of Nigeria December 1983- August 1985). They had five children together, four girls and one boy. Their first daughter, Zulaihat is named after Buhari’s mother. Their other children are Fatima, Musa (deceased), Hadiza, and Safinatu. In 1988, Buhari and his first wife Safinatu were divorced. In December 1989, Buhari married his second and current wife Aisha (née Halilu) Buhari. They also have five children together, a boy and four girls. They are Aisha, Halima, Yusuf, Zarah and Amina. On January 14, 2006, Safinatu Buhari, the former first lady, died from complications of diabetes. She was buried at Unguwar Rimi cemetery...
