Pride anchors on glory, success and achievement. Meaning that, it is impossible to develop pride without the aforementioned factors above! The expression of pride now comes alive in you when you begin to nurture the thought of those elements as means of comparison between you and anybody else. Pride is simply an inflated ego that has gone out of perspectives and control. You see yourself not only better but also the most qualified especially when it comes to getting preferences. All these often starts from the mind and that is why the only antidote is HUMILITY. You must humiliate your mind by considering others first before yourself otherwise you will perpetually fall into the trap of pride easily. So stop overrating yourself just because of those factors above and start appreciating God for whatever privilege you might have enjoyed in your life time so far: degrees, certificates, spouse, home, family background, riches, gadgets, devices, eloquence, position, title, intelligence, beauty, properties, assets, connections, contracts, etc. They were given to you by God to ease your and serve Him better so don't act as if you were the originator. It is not by power nor might but God's grace at work in the life of a man. If God wants to frustrate your effort then He will. Ask jonah and he tell you what he went through! Pride can destroy an entity no matter how far one has gone in life. Meanwhile, there is nothing wrong with one having ambitions and complementing it with the required skills. No at all! That's not what am talking about! Don't forget what I pointed out earlier that; it anchors on glory, success and achievement. We live in an enlightened world were need meet up with its demand positively otherwise we become irrelevant at the end. The devil was not initially bad too until he exalted (overrated) himself even above his maker. What a terrible mistake he made! God will always resist, redeploy and replace a proud heart! You cannot afford to allow the seed of pride to nurture itself in your heart. Destroy it now before it gets a hold of you in the future after it must have grown.
