BECOMING MORE PRODUCTIVE

Posted by admin Hardwork doesn't wear people out. It is wrong work that does. However, it is necessary to take note of how we make the most of time even after work in order to become more productive anytime we are back on the job. Here are few tips that can lighten up our work lives: 1. At the end of the day develop an unwinding routine to signal the brain that you are leaving work. Your mind must truly be ready to free itself from any work entanglement after the close of the day. Wash your coffee or tea mug, and tidy away your work environment. Clear the clutter to clear the mind. 2. On your way home try to unwind by listening to music or playing puzzles probably on your gadgets incase you have such. If you drive in your own personal ride then listen to the radio. 3. As soon as you enter your house, put away and hide anything that is office related (e.g., clothes, laptops, briefcase, lunch boxes etc.). 4. Find time during the day to give yourself  a 15-20 minutes break purpo...

Electricity: A paradigm shift needed

The sudden drop of our electricity generation to 1327MW in recent time is totally unacceptable and simply reveals the ineptitude and inefficiency of both past and present government. Coupled with the scarce petroleum product, most Nigerians were made to face a hard timeout. What can we do with that capacity ? Definitely , less ! Personally, it got so 'good' that i had to without my 'precious' phone for almost three days. This is not the way to go as a nation. Things must be done right in this area of power. The privatisation exercise by the BPE looks more or less like a sham that needs to properly rechecked because there is no positive effect of the change. We need to start taking positive steps by copying other nation's models in ensuring development in that area. We should begin to look away from the conventional way of generating power . Don't know why we can't look into solar and wind power as a national project. Within 4 years we can ...

WOMEN: GOLDEN RULES FOR A SUSTAINABLE HOME

Many homes today are full of strife, wrath and every other form of vices at the home-front. This is as a result of lack of Wisdom in living and managing the home. The absence or ignoring of the leading of the Holy Spirit in the home exposes the major players to making poor decisions that will be detrimental to the home. Both the man and the woman have a role to play. Below are listed the counsels needed by a wise woman: 1). Never raise your voice for any reason on your husband. Its a sign of disrespect.(Prov 15v1) 2). Don't expose your husband's weaknesses to your family and friends. You are each other's keeper. 3). Never use attitudes and moods to communicate to your husband, you never know how your husband will interpret them.(Prov 15v13) 4). Never compare your husband to other men, you've no idea what their life is all about. 5). Never ill treat your husband's friends because you don't like them, the person who's supposed to get rid of them i...

BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT Realities, Challenges, Opportunities & Empowerment

Delivered at The Platform, Abuja Friday, May 1, 2015 By LEKE ALDER [ Principal of Alder Consulting, Author, Social Media Personality, Public Speaker and Philanthropist ] Posted by admin Let me begin this afternoon by stating that I am here to speak for the small businessman - the aspiring entrepreneur. I am not here to speak for big business. Big business can afford to speak for itself though i  acknowledge the challenges of big business but I want to speak for the little man - the young man or woman with little or no capital- a rather puny David confronting the Goliath called Life in Nigeria… I’m going to speak for that little man with limited  options…the one for whom Government is a far away notion, something at a distance- a leviathan he can’t comprehend or absorb. You see to succeed in business in Nigeria you have to take on one of the attributes of God - you have to become self-sufficient. How do you do this, you ask. Simple! You provide you...
