BECOMING MORE PRODUCTIVE

Posted by admin

Hardwork doesn't wear people out. It is wrong work that does. However, it is necessary to take note of how we make the most of time even after work in order to become more productive anytime we are back on the job. Here are few tips that can lighten up our work lives:

1. At the end of the day develop an unwinding routine to signal the brain that you are leaving work. Your mind must truly be ready to free itself from any work entanglement after the close of the day. Wash your coffee or tea mug, and tidy away your work environment. Clear the clutter to clear the mind.

2. On your way home try to unwind by listening to music or playing puzzles probably on your gadgets incase you have such. If you drive in your own personal ride then listen to the radio.

3. As soon as you enter your house, put away and hide anything that is office related (e.g., clothes, laptops, briefcase, lunch boxes etc.).

4. Find time during the day to give yourself  a 15-20 minutes break purposely for relaxation: to let go, to reflect and unwind.

5. Find something outside of work that can distract the mind little. This time you should develop a kind of hobby or something of passion/interest that requires you to focus your attention on something else aside work.

6. Due to the peculiarity of some jobs or work, it might demand that we still eventually engage ourselves then don’t make working during the evening a regular habit. If you have to work during the evening, don’t work too late and set yourself a time limit and stop as soon as possible.

7. Make time to socialise with family and friends. When socialising with your pals, make it a habit not to check emails or send work related texts otherwise you will end up falling back into the trap.

8. Plan and take regular mini breaks and holidays. Its one of the best ways in staying away from work. it might be during your leave period or a public holiday that you want to take advantage of at the moment.

9. Try to exercise and eat healthily. It does not only help you to be physically fit but also makes you mentally alert too.

10. Don’t take on too much at work and don’t be embarrassed to say no to work if the load is becoming too much after all there was meant to be job specification and description in the first place.

POWER OF INFLUENCE

THE POWER OF INFLUENCE An individual begins to develop his or her leadership abilities when he or she starts to influence others towards a particular direction. The reason why you take the lead when you influence others is basically because we are dealing with humans. Other things such as animals, money and properties can only be managed and controlled before you can generate value from them or multiply their usefulness but for humans, it is a different case totally. We actually don’t manage people but lead them. There is a clear distinction between leading and managing. ‘To lead’ simply means to influence. It is to influence others towards the effective and efficient utilization of resources for the maximum productivity of the individual and ultimately the society. ‘To manage’ is to create a process of achieving certain objectives clearly set out through planning, organizing, controlling and directing of human resources. These two concepts are both important in any set...
