Buhari’s Win Is Tinubu’s Loss, But Lagos Cannot Be The Bonus

By Demola Rewaju In every contest between two contenders there must be a winner and ultimately a loser. The actions of the winner in victory are as important as those of the loser which is why as the plaudits come in for General Muhammadu Buhari, they are also rolling in for President Goodluck Jonathan who quickly conceded victory to his opponent and may have by that act averted any violent reaction from his supporters. Buhari’s words since being declared winner have shown that he indeed intends to tackle the issue of corruption for which many kicked against the incumbent government in a whirlwind of change that threw out the ruling party for the first time in this democratic dispensation. Buhari has said that all appointees under his government must declare their assets publicly and restrict their income only to what is approved and allocated by the Revenue Mobilisation and Financial Commission. This is clearly a setback for those who have invested so muc...

My Thoughts!

Posted by Akindolani M.A S.S The issue of resource control from the Niger-Delta region will now raise its ugly head now. The ascension of Jonathan into power initially quelled it without really solving it while boko haram too began their aggression to alert the President of not been unaccepted. The militants too will now resurface except they continue to enjoy the renewal of pipeline surveillance contracts and this I doubt its sustenance by this incoming administration. The action of Jonathan in the just concluded presidential election is just to still the tide in the temporary but to continue from where it stopped later. This is why any attempt to throw away the referendum prepared by the national confab organised by the government will be a mistake with grave consequences. Whether we like it or not, we are not really one in this country until the fundamental issues that affects us regionally are addressed without sentiments and favouritism. Nigeria should have been where it ought t...

The Power of the Internet

Posted by admin Anyone who is not taking advantage of the internet in this our generation is only not aware of the huge opportunity that lies in it but also will be left in the past because of the great benefit missed. We are definitely in the era of information and the internet is simply the platform through which it gains speed. Information is power which nobody should joke with now that almost everything meaningful is now on the web. With the click of a button, the world is brought to your doorstep. How can you now ignore such phenomenon. We can wield it for either positive or negative use. It all depends on whose hand it is but if you have the fear of God in you then you will do wisely. As for me, Massakins , I am going with the trend because it is the golden opportunity for this era. Whatever you are doing or will want to do should be made available to all and sundry through the internet. It is our leverage to the world of fortune if we truly know how to play ou...

Is Android good enough to be a laptop operating system?

Written by Mihir Patkar Posted by admin The Lenovo IdeaPad A10 runs Android 4.2 as the OS Lenovo Ideapad A10 (59-388639) Slatebook (quad Core A9/ 1gb/ 16gb Emmc/ With Windows 8, Microsoft wants one operating system that works well both on desktop PCs and tablets. Google, meanwhile, has chosen Android as its tablet and smartphone interface while developing Chrome OS for laptops. So what happens when you put Android on a laptop with a touchscreen, like with the Lenovo Ideapad A10? Not Quite Android Many smartphone makers choose to put custom UI skins on Android. Usually, I’m not a fan of that. But on laptops, it’s a necessity. Android isn’t made for laptops, so to make it usable with this form factor, things need to change. Which is why Lenovo has introduced things like a custom dock which mimics the Windows Launch Superbar. Android also needs a keyboard which steps away from the traditional Windows and Linux keyboards, with special buttons for co...

20 Owners of Richest Oil Blocks in Nigeria- Their Names Will Shock You

By Obinna Akukwe Posted by admin February 17, 2015 It’s more news the North wants GEJ out of the way, so their licenses can be renewed cos most of them are expiring from 2016 upwards. Monumental injustice is being perpetrated to the people of Niger Delta on whose soil the oil was found. These people constitutes the main opposition to President Goodluck Jonathan today. Please Read on: (1) This oil block business is so lucrative that Danjuma’s Sapetro divested of its investment in Akpo condensate for $1billion dollars. This business is second to none in Nigeria. That is why any attempt to investigate the activities in this sector will always be futile. The money is so much that they give bribes in millions of dollars. A birthday gift or child naming gift from an oil block owner to a government official could be as paltry as $2million dollars, and if the official’s father died, the condolence gift could reach mere $3 million dollars. When they want t...

Leslie: We believe it would be one of the greatest social revolutions the church has experienced. Think of the ripple effect it would have on everything from children's and youth ministry to offerings and missions. Les: The tide rises for everything and everybody in the church when marriages are stronger and healthier. Dan: Patti and I have been married for 33 years. I'm curious to know what two marriage experts do for Valentines. Les: Oh, man – you don't want to know. It's one of the least romantic days on our calendar. Leslie: We laugh about it every year. If we're lucky, we typically get a quick meal in between flights while passing through O'Hare A...

6 men Christian women should avoid

Here are six types of men that you should avoid in having a friendship or a relationship with: 1. Men Who Don’t Put God First I believe that this one is the most important of all. If a man doesn’t put God first in His life then he’ll likely put you way down in his list of priorities. A man that has Jesus Christ at the center of his life will also likely hold his girlfriend or wife in high regard because men are commanded to love their wife like Christ loved the church and gave his life for her (Eph 5:25). 2. Men Who Are Consumed with Hobbies My wife loves college football and basketball and even the NFL but she isn’t consumed with them. She would rather do things with the family and miss a game than be glued to the TV until the game or games are over. If a man has a compulsion with hobbies, you might end up in second place to whatever it is he is consumed with. Wouldn’t you rather have a man that is consumed with glorifying God first and...

6 women that Christian men should avoid

Here are 6 women that Christian men should avoid dating and most certainly, consider for marriage. Follow up to the article ( 6 Men Christian Women Should Avoid ) 1. A Woman Who Doesn’t Believe This is the most important factor of all. Since we are commanded to not be unequally yoked with non-believers, then how much more so should a man not even consider dating someone who doesn’t believe (2 Cor 6:14)? A Christian man should never consider dating an unbeliever, just as no woman should ever think about dating a non-believing man. It’s foolish to think that you can date her and lead her to saving faith in Christ. This could certainly backfire on you. 2. Women Who Don’t Put God First This may be one of the greatest factors for men to consider in not dating a woman. If a woman never puts God first, then she may be putting herself first. If she doesn’t put God first then she’ll likely have you way down on her priority list too. No woma...

The best excuse I’ve ever heard for calling in sick

By Richard Branson (@richardbranson) Posted by admin on 2 February 2015 Today has been dubbed National Sickie Day in the UK – because more people take this day as sick leave than any other of the year. I’ve heard some far-fetch, fantastic and fantastical excuses for skipping work in my time. But what’s the best excuse I’ve heard for calling in sick? Images from gettyimages I once called a sick crew member from Virgin Atlantic to see how she was doing, only to be told that she couldn’t hear who was on the phone as it was too noisy at Ascot! It wasn’t much of an excuse but more of a case of not covering her tracks! Ever since we started Virgin, we’ve always worked hard to keep our staff happy and healthy. We believe that if you look after your staff first the rest will follow – a happy workforce is a healthier workforce. Within our Virgin Management headquarters, we run a range of initiatives to help our people stay healthy. Fresh fruit and salad is avail...
